  • Color illustration of Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo's historic upper city (Città Alta) with the Torre Civica, popularly known as the Campanone. A detailed black-and-white city street map and urban layout on the back cover.

Originally constructed as a house-tower between the 11th and 12th centuries, the Torre Civica stands 53 meters (173 feet) tall. Named after the massive historic bell housed at its summit (the largest bell in the Lombardy region), the bell still tolls 100 times every single evening at 10:00 PM to mark the historical curfew and closing of the city gate.

Published by E.N.I.T. (Italian State Tourist Department) and the State Railways.
