This poster is currently unbacked. At check out, you will be given the opportunity to add backing which would cost $275 and take approximately 6-8 weeks.
Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself. Backing is what we recommend for framing, and for any poster needing restoration.
Tourists enjoy the many sight of Rome, including the Column of Phocas ( prominent blue-toned column in the foreground on the left), Temple of Antoninus and Faustina (building with the large classical columns just behind the Column of Phocas), The Colosseum (massive, curved building in the background), Palazzo Senatorio (The building on the far left background, which houses Rome's city hall and sits atop the ancient Tabularium), and Santa Maria in Ara Coeli (church with the distinctive tall bell tower, campanile, visible in the upper center.)
It was founded in 1934 by George T. Baker, National Airlines operated from 1934 to 1980. At its height in the late 1960’s and 1970’s, National Airlines had a network of "Coast-to-Coast-to-Coast" flights, linking Florida and the Gulf Coast with cities along the East Coast and large cities on the West Coast. From 1970 to 1978, National, Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) and Trans World Airlines (TWA) were the only U.S. airlines that operated scheduled passenger flights to Europe. In January 1980, National Airlines was acquired by Pan Am and its routes and equipment were integrated into the Pan Am structure and National ceased to exist.
