  • Five stylised dalhia flowers, the national flower of Mexico, with their positions reminiscent of the Olympic rings logo. The 1968 Summer Olympics (Spanish: Juegos OlĂ­mpicos de Verano de 1968), officially known as the Games of the XIX Olympiad, were held in Mexico City, Mexico, from October 12th to the 27th. These were the first Olympic Games to be staged in Latin America and the first to be staged in a Spanish-speaking country.
