Angelic and patriotic, a nurse wrapped in the American flag calls on people to join the Red Cross. During the war, the Red Cross labored not only to raise money (which, in the course of two separate pledge drives raised more than $297 million), but also to enroll members. By the end of the war, Red Cross membership had reached an astonishing thirty million. This post war poster continued the Red Cross’s membership drive effort.
