This poster is currently unbacked. At check out, you will be given the opportunity to add backing which would cost $80 and take approximately 6-8 weeks.
Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself. Backing is what we recommend for framing, and for any poster needing restoration.
Aktionswoche vom 15. - 22.10.83
Volksversammlung für den Frieden am 22.10.1983
in Bonn, Hamburg, Stuttgart / Neu-Ulm und Berlin - W.
A diverse range of protestors, including a nun brandishing an umbrella, a chef, and children, rush towards a missile and work together to push it out. The message is clear: NATO's missile deployment in Europe will not be tolerated. The text announces a “Week of Action” from October 15–22, 1983, and a “People’s Assembly for Peace” on October 22 in cities including Bonn, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Neu-Ulm, and West Berlin.
Please note minor loss to upper left corner and slight tears and losses to bottom edge. These issues would be addressed with linen backing.
