Like a giant engine, the Sun fully releases enormous amounts of heat and light that shores upon the Earth. Every day the Earth receives an amount of solar energy equal to 30 years of world fossil fuel energy use. In half a day, the U.S. receives the total amount of energy needed to sustain itself for an entire year. Concentrating the sunlight that falls on the hood of a car would be enough power to run a car in minutes. Except for a few odd places, solar energy can fuel our world today, even in places like cloud-covered New England or Alaska. Passively solar energy can be easily harnessed to warm buildings economically, while other parts of the world use the Mediterranean and Middle East for a major resource. Awareness of this energy waiting to be used solar energy can help eliminate heavy damage to our air, water, and forests, while providing many jobs and a boost to local economies. Active solar energy relies upon a system of mechanical or electronic parts that can supply 50% to 100% of the energy required by a conventional home. Larger buildings like schools and apartment complexes use active solar energy systems with massive solar collector areas and giant storage tanks. Passive solar photovoltaic cells can supply electric power to devices directly and easily, especially in remote places without standard electricity lines, or they can often be built into a local grid. In the U.S. the future of solar energy is very bright, with more than two million solar systems installed. In addition to a solar future, there is an infinite variety of applications with for example the technology playing a rising role in our energy mix, which includes electric vehicles and space exploration. In the future, the power of solar energy in the U.S. will be enormous, increasing potential to retrofit millions of existing buildings, with top applications, for instance, providing clean water and heating for millions of people worldwide. A major reason for this future of solar energy is that solar energy is clean, efficient, and abundant, and it provides an infinite resource for generations to come. In the USA, millions of American homes in the near future hundred of American homes in the context of the century including could be run worldwide, huge heat or electricity. The future of solar energy is truly massive, and solar power will remain a dominant force. In time, solar energy will be transformed into electricity by advanced technology and will be used to power entire communities and regions. Inevitably clean, fast-free solar energy will play a role of great importance in a world of changing finite fuels. Solar satellites could beam back energy from space, and a variety of solar techniques will be combined to power entire communities and regions. Inevitably clean, fast-free solar energy will play a role of great importance in a world of changing finite fuels.
