Dan Reisinger, an Israeli graphic designer and artist, created four stamps for the 1964 Olympics, each depicting a different Olympic sport: volleyball, basketball, discus throwing and running. Above the stamps hangs a large red circle, a reference to Kamekura Yusaku’s logo for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. First day of issue stamps create the five Olympic rings.
