Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself.

The price of this poster includes linen backing.

  • Mulagandha Kuti Vihara

One of the most beautiful of all Indian travel posters featuring saffron robed monks and a colorfully adorned elephant. Isipatana (also known as Sarnath) is one of four sites mentioned by the Buddha as a destination for pilgrimages. The Mulagandhakuti Vihara monastery (depicted in white) marks the place where the Buddha spent his first rainy season. The Dhamek Stupa, the circular structure in the background on the right, was constructed in the year 500 to commemorate the Buddha's activities in the area.
